Snagging Inspector (Ad-hock/freelance: North West England)

The Professional Snagging Company is a new-build snagging company. We inspect houses pre-completion and post completion for customers and developers throughout the UK. To meet current demand we are looking for an inspector to operate throughout the North West. We have set the area to Manchester only as a guide as the job does not involve going to an office; rather setting out to the appointments every day from home.

About the role:

Every day will be different as you travel from your home to inspect properties throughout the North West. Once on site you will use our thorough range of checks to ensure the property is completed to an excellent standard for our clients. Most inspections take around four hours depending on the size of the property. By recording your findings on our app you will produce a report to be published for the client. Some inspections will require the use of specialist thermal imaging and drone equipment. You will ideally have experience of using this equipment, and access to your own equipment for this purpose. However, equipment and training can be provided for the right candidate.

Remuneration is set at 50% of the total cost of an inspection + per mile travel expenses. Typically you will be inspecting three bedroom and four bedroom properties, so would receive £175 - £200 per inspection + travel expenses. More details on the package we offer will be discussed in the interview process.

About you:

You will be methodical in your approach to work, have an eye for detail and high standards. Knowledge of construction, building survey and completion processes is essential. Hold a building survey qualification or a similar RICs qualification (SAVA ect) and/or a CSCS Card will be advantageous. Experience as a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager and NHBC standards is also desired.  Having experience of using an app to raise issues and reports is essential, although training can be provided for the right candidate. You must also hold a full UK Driving Licence, own a vehicle for travel and have the right to work in the UK.

We are looking for someone seeking flexible and ad-hoc work. You will be able to select the days you are available for work. Equally, work will only be available when bookings are made on these dates. The more flexible you can be, the more work you are likely to have. Working patterns and travel details will be discussed in the interview process.
